From their website: "The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is not freeware, but it is free of charge for publicly funded, non-profit, educational users who make their pages available on the web. Other users must pay for a licence."

Open Source Image Editing Software - GIMP - http://www.gimp.org/downloads. This software will create or edit images or banners for online course materials and is much less expensive than Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

Open Source PDF Writer - CUTE PDF - http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp. This software will create .pdf files from your word processor, Internet browser or HTML editor.

Picasa - http://www.picasa.com. Need to modify an image (photo or graphic) and you don't know how to use (or own) Photoshop? There is a free and easy graphic tool available to you from the Google web site called Picasa. You can download it at: http://www.picasa.com, or you can go to http://www.google.com > click More > Picasa. Using Picasa, you can easily prepare images for upload to Blackboard.
